Entry Requirements
- Aged 16 or over

Progression
After successful completion, learners can:

- Count towards the Level 2 staff-to-child ratio within the Early Years Workforce

- Have access to children and young people in a residential childcare environment to demonstrate occupational competence during assessment.

Assessment
Learners are assessed through a portfolio of evidence completed in the workplace. Assessment methods include workplace observations, professional discussions, reflective accounts, witness testimonies and supporting evidence that demonstrate occupational competence. All assessments are internally assessed and externally quality assured by the relevant awarding organisation (NCFE CACHE or Pearson).
Entry Requirements
To enrol, learners should:
- Be aged 16 years or over
- Be employed in an adult care setting in England
- Be working in, or preparing for, a Lead Adult Care Worker role
- Have the opportunity to demonstrate competence in the workplace
- Have access to suitable work activities that meet the qualification requirements
Progression
On successful completion, learners can:
- Progress to a Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification in Adult Care
- Develop their career as a Lead Adult Care Worker, Senior Care Assistant, Senior Support Worker or Team Leader
- Progress into supervisory and management roles within adult social care
- Continue professional development through higher-level leadership and management qualifications
- Progress to higher education. Learners who achieve this qualification alongside Functional Skills Level 2 (or GCSE equivalent) in English and Mathematics, and who meet individual university entry requirements, may be eligible to apply for relevant higher education programmes, including degrees in Health and Social Care, Nursing, Social Work and other related subjects.
