More About The Course
Functional Skills qualifications in Mathematics are designed to help learners build confidence and competence in using maths in everyday life. They provide a strong foundation that supports progression into employment or further technical education, while also developing practical numeracy skills that can be applied in real-world situations. Learners will demonstrate a solid understanding of essential mathematical concepts at each level and apply mathematical thinking to solve straightforward problems in familiar contexts.
These qualifications are recommended for learners aged 14 and above and can be delivered in a variety of learning environments. They can be studied as a stand-alone qualification or included as part of a wider programme of study, such as an apprenticeship. Apprenticeship learners are required to complete Functional Skills as part of their overall programme alongside their main qualification, unless they can provide evidence of exemption.
This qualification can be achieved through different learning methods, including classroom-based teaching, online or distance learning, and blended approaches, as long as the recommended guided learning hours are met. The total Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for this qualification is 55 hours; however, actual delivery time may vary depending on the learning format and the individual needs of the learner.
